The SDSSU Budget Office spearheads budget forum, in preparation for fiscal year 2018 budget. It was held at the new board room of the university on July 31, 2017 with the Campus Directors, Budget Officers, Planning Officers, and Book Keepers and other key officials of the university.
Vice Pres. for Admin. & Finance, Dr. Florife O. Urbiztondo, in her statement of purpose, emphasized the importance on the conduct of budget forum annually, to discuss and refresh the budget process and accountability. It also emphasized issues clarifying matters relative to budget preparation.
The University President Dr. Baceledes R. Estal highlighted the effectiveness of the Planning and budgeting in order to meet the important needs of the University especially on fiscal matters.
Budget officer, Mrs. Eugenia R. Cosmiano, discussed the guidelines and timelines on the budget preparation. Important issues regarding the utilization rate as of June 30, 2017, was successfully deliberated. Further, she reminded the Fund Administrators to anchor their budget on the approved MTDP of the university to achieve the university goals and objectives. The criteria in the allocation of maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) to the satellite campuses was agreed while the personal services (PS) is fixed based on the salary of the employees as stipulated in the personnel services itemization and plantilla of personnel (PSIPOP).
The committee members was also informed that an assessment activity will be conducted regarding the compliance of each unit or campus to ascertain that budget utilization conforms with fiscal policies required by COA, DBM and other regulatory agencies.
