RDO Conducts GIS Training-Workshop

R and D of SDSSU conducts the Geographic Information System (GIS) training workshop on the refinement of the GIS based research proposal on Oct. 16-18, 2017 at the Old Library building, SDSSU Tandag, Surigao del Sur. The workshop was participated by the faculty in the six campuses who have submitted GIS based research proposals. The Expert tapped to this event is Dr. Alejandro Tongco who is the funding director of GIS and a DOST Balik Scientist. It was successfully ended with the presentation of the research proposals and was then submitted to R & D office for approval and interpretation of the projects next calendar year. Balik Scientist Program, specifically on geographic information system.

Dr. Tongco, a GIS research specialist formerly with Oklahoma State University, possesses advanced technical skills in GIS and substantial experience in the academe. With this undertaking, it is highly deemed that SDSSU will be able to add more value on its research undertakings for the development needs of the Institution and the Provinces as a whole.
